Review-

Flash of Dark is the first book in the Rebirth series by Sara Brookes. It is an interesting book that will hold your attention with its exciting mix of fantasy, romance and mystery. The characters are nicely done, Ana in particular. She is a great lead character and the story is told from her point of view. Ana is fae, a Tuatha De Danaan and the details that are gradually revealed regarding her powers are fascinating. Her character is realistic and flawed. She must deal with dilemmas stemming from her power in her relationship with Stark who is human. Stark is handsome, strong and confident. The chemistry between him and Ana is intense and he pursues her with single-minded determination. Ana puts up a strong resistance, but eventually folds under the strength of Starks will and her own powerful attraction to him. It’s enjoyable to watch these two come together. The romance is charming and the sex scenes are volatile. You’ll find yourself rooting for the characters and hoping they’ll win in their battle for happy ever after.

Flash of Dark has an original plot that will capture your attention from the first page. The premise of a romance between a Tuatha De Danaan and a mortal is a good one, throw in some mystery, danger, suspense and characters that you’ll love and it’s great. You won’t want to put it down. The flow of the story is good though it does get a little choppy at the end. All in all Flash of Dark is very well done. The author, Sara Brookes shows great potential and will be one to watch. Flash of Dark is recommended for fans of Urban Fantasy Romance.
